My husband and I got married in Punta Cana, DR in June and we can't say enough great things about Jesse. He is everything we could have hoped for and more. Having an excellent photographer was at the top of my list for our wedding and he and his team fit the bill. The photos he took were absolutely amazing! When I think back to my wedding day to the man of my dreams and things are blurry all I need to do is look at our amazing wedding pictures taken by Jesse! I can't stop raving about the amazing and talented Jesse Hernandez!
I was lucky enough to have Jesse shoot both my wedding ceremony & reception last month. The online photo gallery is TO DIE FOR; and was completed so quickly! (As every bride knows....after the let-down of the wedding being over....you are sooo anxious to see the pictures ASAP!)
The pictures captured the raw emotion of the special, intimate ceremony...and you could practically feel the energy and groove of the evening soiree through the reception photos. Jesse's style of photography was exactly what these parties called for; he's not afraid to crouch on the floor or climb on a speaker to get the perfect shot. He was able to get posed and candid shots of our guests...some B&W, some color, some sepia...but ALL absolutely beautiful!

I first found out about Jesse through a co-worker. I was looking for a photographer that had an artistic eye, reasonably priced and was willing to travel to Punta Cana for our destination wedding. We were so lucky to have all that in Jesse. Our package included an engagement session , lots of wedding pictures in a DVD and a gorgeous wedding album.
Jesse made me and my husband feel very relaxed during our wedding and had great suggestions regarding poses. He was with us from when I put on my make up to when the reception was over. When we received our DVD, the hardest thing to do was pick the 85 pictures for the album; we loved them all!! We were so happy with the final product and the album looked modern but timeless. I would sincerely recommend Jesse as a great choice for your wedding.

I cannot recommend Jesse Hernandez Photography highly enough. Jesse photographed our wedding in the Dominican Republic about a month ago and we are thrilled with our pictures! I was married in October 2009 and called Jesse and in truth what a wonderful person to have by your side all day. There was never any stress with him as he exudes a calming feeling, almost like a smooth aura surrounds him which is great for the bride to be! My pictures turned out more beautiful than I really imagined. I got ready in a tight hotel room and you would never know by seeing my pictures.
He was always smiling and may have politely asked to repeat a glance or a pose but as a bride you were not bothered or felt smothered, but the opposite he kind of flowed with you. Jesse and his assistants shot my wedding in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in July 2009. After interviewing with several other photographers, Jesse was the best value for my $$!! The engagement session pics came out awesome, even though I looked pretty great myself!! haha. The actual wedding day photos were even better. He delivered everything as planned and gave us really beautiful photos for our album.
My tips for picking a wedding photographer:
1. Review previous work (online and in person)
2. Interview their experience and personality (friendly and bilingual are a plus!)
3. Get great value for your money (compare the packages of your photogs)
4. Make sure they are the one shooting day of wedding as other studios might send out an assistant or other staff that you never met before
5. Get that sense of confidence from them
Jesse matched all 5 criteria and I am extremely glad we chose him, especially after participating in 3 other weddings this year and seeing other photographers' styles (or lack thereof) and what they were charging…ridiculous!!
P.S.- I forgot to mention that he took so many photos of things that we would have missed ourselves. Attention to details is a must from your wedding photographer!! That should have been criteria #6, and yes, Jesse matched that too!!

We had our wedding in Punta Cana, D.R. and Jesse traveled from NY to Punta Cana to photograph our special day. He truly captured every moment of our wedding day. From the moment I was getting my hair done until the end of the night he was right there with his camera on hand photographing every little detail.
Jesse is a great photographer, not only is he professional but also very personable which made it easy for us to feel comfortable in front of the camera. His passion for his craft definitely shows through the pictures he takes. Our photos were amazing and there were so many pictures! Jesse was wonderful. He is fun and easy to work with, responsive, and his photos are beautiful. We had a large wedding party and lots of parents, step-parents and other family members to photograph and take care of and Jesse made sure that what could have been a very stressful situation was easy, smooth and fun. We just had such a good time with him from the time I started to get ready to our meeting by the river, to the cobblestone streets of Tribeca, to the ceremony and reception.
Jesse was always willing and excited to do whatever we wanted to do. He also had two assistants with him which gave us a huge range of shots and some that were taken from different angles so that we could choose the ones we liked best. We had albums made for ALL of our parents and they are beautiful and ours is like something out of a movie. All of my friends who have seen my wedding photos wish they had known about him for their weddings!

SO many people have complimented us on our photography - how Jesse captured every detail - from our facial expressions, to the joy and energy of our family and friends, to the setting, food and decor. My sister and I were planning our parents' 30th wedding anniversary and we were searching for a great photographer to capture the special moments of the night. When we decided to hire Jesse, everything else fell right into place! Our party was a HUGE surprise to our parents, and Jesse had requested two weeks before that I ask everyone at the party to back away from the entrance so he could capture my mom & dad's faces when they walked in. Because of this Jesse took the most UNBELIEVABLE pictures of my parents when they arrived and captured the pure shock!! The pictures are absotuley priceless and ones that my sister, my parents and myself will treasure forever. He was a pleasure to work with.
